The King's Church is a vibrant, dynamic, growing and living group of people from all walks of life but with one thing in common. They all have encountered the life transforming power of God through Jesus Christ. At King's Church Our Vision is to see: The Church transformed through worship, The City taken with the Word of God and The Nation touched with the glory of God. Like every church we have elders who work together with the leaders to bring the Church towards God and to help meet Our Vision Statement.
Paul and Val McMahon are part of the senior leadership here at The King's Church. Paul was a professional musician before surrendering his life to Christ in the early 70's. Val came to the Lord through Billy Graham at one of his crusades.
They were married in 1975 and have three children and four grandchildren. They lived in Bradford, being part of The Church House Fellowship (now The Abundant Life Church) for many years before being sent out to join the church in Halifax in 1984. Paul has fulfilled various leadership roles before becoming the senior leader in 1994.
Both have travelled extensively in sharing the message of the Kingdom. Their passion is to see the Church fulfil its God-given vision and to see the people reach their full potential as fully equipped and available ministers of the life of the Kingdom wherever they are planted.
Paul and Eve are founder members of the church. They have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. In the late 1970's a small group of Christians began meeting in their home. Many things happened over the next 5 years and by 1980 Halifax Christian Fellowship was formed, now known as the King's Church Halifax. Paul was made an elder in 1996. They have a heart to see the Kingdom of God invading this earth and to leave an inheritance for future generations of the church.
Paul had a calling to the healing ministry many years before opening the Healing Rooms of Halifax in January 2003. Paul and Eve are the National Directors of Healing Rooms in England and Wales. They were recognised as apostolic ministries by the International Association of Healing Rooms (IAHR) and ordained in 2008. They have been appointed as Divisional Directors for IAHR looking after 13 nations in Europe including the United Kingdom. They have run training courses and planted Healing Rooms in Croatia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, Siberia and Spain. Paul has spoken at several conferences in France and England.
Peter Hamlett was just seven when he decided to follow Jesus. He acknowledges however that it was many years before he grew up spiritually even though he was given leadership responsibilities at an early age within The Salvation Army, into which Peter was born and brought up.
Beryl had led the way as first she and then Peter encountered the life changing reality of Holy Spirit power. Eventually it became clear that God planned something new for them. His leading was into The King's Church in which they have become increasingly active, Peter now being a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Peter and Beryl have been privileged to minister throughout the UK and abroad but they realise that their principal calling is to Halifax. They are now retired. Their daughter lives with her husband and two children only a mile or so away from them which explains why it is not just Church which keeps the Hamletts busy!
Neil is married to Alison with teenage children Joseph & Cerys. Last year he took up the role of youth pastor. Having studied fine art Neil went on to become a teacher. Whilst moving from education into corporate roles he has been involved with children's and youth work throughout his adult life.
His passion is to see young people impacted and captivated by the love of Jesus Christ. Some would say he is in this role because he is a big kid himself but Neil believes it is possible to be serious about God, making a difference in the world whilst having big fun and retaining youthful exuberance.
Steven and Charlotte are married with three children ranging from 21 to 9 months! They have a strong desire to see individuals and families released to be fruitful and full of passion for Jesus Christ as they continue the life long journey of discovering their God given destinies. They desire to see more of the Holy Spirit's work in all that they do and are privileged to be serving God at King's Church Halifax.
Steven has previously worked in full time student ministry and currently works as a manager with a ministry dedicated to supporting churches in their land and building requirements throughout the UK.
